Just moved to the Lynnwood/Mukilteo/Everett area.
I like to eat a lot of salads & raw food.
Was wondering where was a good place to find that here?
I used to go to Panera Bread a lot.
There were at least 3 in a 4 mile radius of where i used to live.
Here not so many.

Thanks for your help

Most grocery stores here (QFC, Safeway, Whole Foods) have a large selection of pre-prepared salads as well as good-sized salad bars where you pay by the pound. WF is the most expensive, but it's also the most extensive. I also like the salads at Chipotle - they're fast and use quality ingredients. Not sure exactly what you have in your radius now, but those are some options..

Thanks I really like WF's salad bar. I agree it is expensive. I also like chipolte grill for a burrito bowl occasionally, never tried a salad there. I generally would like to grab a quick "fast food" salad from time to time. Just don't see many options for that here. I will try the grocery stores, generally got groceries at walmart, they dont have those there.

Ugh...f' Panera and Walmart. Most larger cities are anti-chain. As they should be!

Interesting, because I like both of those places.
So where do you go instead to get the same things?

Alfy's Pizza or Country Buffet, both in Lynnwood, have salad bars. Believe it or not, McDonalds has a decent tasting salad, though I'm sure it's sprayed with some sort of preservative that will keep it fresh through to the next millenium.

Of course you can simply prepare salad veggies in the morning (it's easy and quick enough if you're handy with a French Chef knife), and put it into a container along with a packet of dressing.

My sometimes solution for a raw lunch "salad" at work is to prep the ingredient veggies for use in a food processor later, but leave them in the refrigerator in a baggie. Then in the morning I'd throw all of it together in the processor and pulse the chopping blade for a few seconds, making a sort of slaw - but the secret to keeping it from browning or deteriorating is to put some olive oil and crushed rosemary in with it. Both have antioxidants that keep it fresh until lunch. Then just pack it into a Gladware container with a packet of your favorite salad dressing which you bought in bulk at Costco, or simply salt and vinegar (don't put any salt into the salad until you are about to eat it, that's what makes salads wilt).

Yeah, I know it's weird, but it's a lot cheaper than a salad from Whole Foods, and the nutrients become more available by chopping small or shredding thinly.

Urbanspoon.com is a great site for finding your special restaurant. Any kind of cuisine you want you can find here along with reviews. I swear by this site but keep in mind, some users reviews may be a tad biased. They also have menu's to alot of the restaurants featured too. Click on the link below which hopefully will help.

Never been in there will have to try if im in the area, I like the salad bar at Ballard market quite a bit though.

To the OP I lived in the north end also and when I would get a salad for lunch it was generally at a QFC. Top Foods is usually pretty good also.

I happened to be in a Pagliachi (sp?) pizza place the other day and they had an entire salad station where someone would toss together exactly what you wanted. They had a standard menu of course, but were happy to make anything they had ingredients for. It was pretty good and quite fast.
