Im in school in Oklahoma. Will be graduated in 3 years or less with a BA in Sociology. I absolutely detest this state not to mention there are no jobs. I love the culture, climate Washington & Oregon both have to offer. But, what are the opportunities available in my market?

A BA in sociology isn't going to buy you much in terms of real job opportunities ... you'd have to get your master's and have a good thesis to start going places.

Here's a list of things you will need a more advanced degree to get a job in:

  • Clinical Administrator
  • Counselor
  • Director of Social Service Agency
  • Gerontologist
  • Professor
  • Social Worker /Applied Sociologist
  • Statistician
  • School Psychologist
With a BA, you might be able to become a government social analyst or international market researcher. Your salary won't be spectacular, either, on average around $36,000 a year. That's not a lot for the Seattle area. In fact I would guess you couldn't even rent a studio at that salary.

I'm not going to discourage you from looking, however, I think it would do you good to discuss your future career goals with a career counselor. This is ever more so true since we're in the worst economy in 80+ years. Take care and good luck!

I think eskercurve gave some good advice, but is a bit optimistic. With a BA in Sociology, you will have a hard time not working at Starbucks almost anywhere in the country. Seattle is chock full of techies and people that are generally overqualified for their jobs. Combine that with the substantially high (though not outrageous) cost of living and it spells difficult times for an entry level sociology major.

I hope you find something, but the outlook is bleak for the near future. Oregon may be a better bet than Seattle if you want to come to the Pac NW, but I can't say that for sure.
