Anyone know of a deli in Bellevue/Mercer Island where they serve a great bagel with lox & cream cheese?

Haven't had their bagels and lox, but Stopsky's on Mercer Island makes a damned fine pastrami sandwich.
They bake their own bagels there.

Gilbert's on Main St in "old" downtown Bellevue does a respectable bagel and lox, and is a pleasant place to hang out.

Mikey's in Redmond bakes great bagels, and they make great bagels and lox there, but there's not much seating.

I'm not a Noah's fan, though they are on Mercer Island.

Lol, does EVERY place put cheese on their reubens in Seattle? The first time I saw that, I thought: surely, this must be because they don't know any better. But seriously, I haven't found a place that doesn't put swiss on their reubens!

Isn't a Reuben supposed to have Swiss cheese? Isn't it something other than a Reuben if it doesn't have Swiss? I suppose it could be "" Reuben style" if it didn't have cheese, like at a Kosher deli, but I always thought a true Reuben had to have Swiss.

OK I've lived like, two blocks from this place for two years and have never seen it ... where in the world is it? Google maps and street view are no help.

Thanks! Will have to give Stopsky's a try and also Gilbert's. When living there, had no problem driving to Redmond, but now I'm used to ZERO traffic where I live (high desert NM--trying to sell and move back to the PNW so need to get used to the traffic, right?) The closest place to us for bagels is Chompy's in Phoenix/Chandler--hours away--but so delicious.

Well I live in NYC so I have the good fortune of being able to get great bagels at any number of places. But when I get a bagel at a deli, I usually get one with cream cheese/salmon spread because it's less expensive.

But for a real bagel with cream cheese and lox, I get a package of sliced, smoked salmon at Costco (Kirkland brand is very good), cream cheese from anywhere, and some good bagels, and make my own at home.

Delicious and inexpensive!
