Ever since I started looking for apartment/condo to rent in Bellevue, the experience has been frastrating. I moved from outside of Washington state last year. I looked at some condos for rent in Bellevue. It seems like people are renting like crazy now. If I call back two days later the place would be gone. I don't have much knowledge about the area. Would anybody give me some suggestions about a good neighbourhood or apartment for young single professional? I like places near the woods or water so I can go running. But I also don't want to live too far away from shops/bars. I want to be able to walk around and meet people. I used to live in columbia city and loved it. Any suggestions? If you know any good apartment names please give me some. Thank you

The answer to your question is "not really." The only area even close is downtown, but the apartments are expensive and do go very quickly. The affordable ones are way out by Crossroads where you would likely be bored to death. Typically shops/bars are not near any woods. I would suggest looking along the shore of Lake Washington in Kirkland. It will still be expensive but close to downtown there are all the businesses you need,
water and parks, and in summer lots of joggers.

Define "too far away". I live in a completely different city and can get to Bellevue in about 8 minutes. Unless you're one of those people trying to do the whole 'look ma, no car!' thing that kids like boasting about these days, the options are significantly greater than living downtown Bellevue.

Seconded. If you want to rent there's new places on Mercer Island. And you can still do the "look ma! no car!" thing if that floats your boat as there's buses that go from there to downtown Bellevue.
