I'm looking for a job in the natural resources field and I know that many Indian tribes have a dept, especially the in the Pacific NW. Anyone know of any tribes in the Vicinity of Seattle?

Most people would automatically think of the Muckleshoot tribe (Auburn area). But there are also some tribes in the Snoqualmie, Puyallup, Suquamish (b/w Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island and Kingston), Marysville (Tulalip) areas.

The Tribal Directory from the Governor's Office for Indian Affairs is for the entire state but it's a very comprehensive guide and will give the contact information for each tribe in the state. Granted, you'll have to sift through to isolate the tribes that are closest to Seattle but the forum members can help you out as to which ones are in the Seattle vicinity.

You can also take a look at their website for even more information:

I have seen ads for such positions within the last few weeks in the Sunday Seattle Times. Get the paper, they are not always also in the online version NW Jobs.

You might also check online with the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks as they will post their job openings on their website.
