My fiance is a journeyman electrician specializing in Commercial work. Where we live currently, he is making very good money however it's on and off again throughout the year. I'm trying to convince him to move to the Seattle area but he's worried about finding work.
Is construction year round in Seattle? Is it a very competative environment? Average pay for electricians?
Any knowledge out be appreciated

the IBEW site says they need journeyman electricians immediately. Looks like the timing is good for you and he!

In general, construction is way down, with every city laying off their permitting staff. Still, there are several good sized projects going on for
government agencies, such as the Alaskan Way Viaduct replacement, Seawall upgrades, and 520 bridge replacement that will all require electricians. I've noticed around my area a few of the housing developments that stalled for the last couple of years are starting to build again. new commercial development is probably the weakest it's been in many years, with the exception of a few projects in the south lake union area.
