You have come to the right place. That'd be most of the county, provided there is outdoor space. Probably looking for somewhere out west or up in Bloomingdale or Port Wentworth. To really get rural, Jasper Co., Bryan or Effingham. Drive around and check it out if you can come visit or just hit Zillow.com.

"getting older" is a gift and might be BECAUSE you are living in Belize.
Think twice about this decision.

I think the hardest part will be finding a rental in the country, simply because the density of available homes is lower. And the majority of what's available will be mobile homes and not houses.

As SL more or less said, Georgia is a very rural state. You can pretty much throw a dart at the map and that's what you'll hit.

That being said, you might not want generic rural, simply because all areas are not created equal and some rural/urban fringe dwellers are sketchy folks. I'd try to zero in on a rural township with a more or less stable population where you have better fire and police protection from the growing methamphetamine trade and the social fallout from that.

If it were me, I'd look around Glennville, Pembroke, Guyton, Brooklet, Springfield, Newington, or even Sylvania and pay very close attention to the condition of the neighborhood within a mile or two of your future home. Take your time and look carefully.
