I read on the Sarasota County School that the high schools will no longer be on a block schedule. They are going to a 7 period a day schedule. Is it also true that Sarasota County requires 26 high school credits to graduate in comparison to most other area that require only 24?

I am kind of worried about that since my son is coming from a block schedule with some courses still needing another 1/2 credit....

OK, I just grabbed my oldest daughters report card that came in the mail a few days ago. On the back it says, Block scheduled schools require 28 credits for graduation. Traditional scheduled schools require accumulation of 24 credits for graduation.

What about taking classes earlier? My daughter goes into school two hours before most classes starts. It's called 00 or double zero period. She's going into 11th and has 22 or the required 26 credits to graduate. She just wanted to take a few extra classes.
