Hi Everyone,
I've been here for a few weeks now and am having trouble finding shoes I like. I'm not into the super high-end shoes you find at Saks. Just something cute and comfortable and not old lady. Macy's and Dillards were a little disappointing. Does anyone have any advice on independent shoes stores in the area. I used to shop at DSW which Sarasota is in dire need of. Thanks!

I think that SoFLGal and her girls have taken possession of all of the shoes in SWFL, and their are taking up all their closet space!

Either that or they just don't want you wearing shoes in SWFL. Flip Flops are OK.

Don't get me started on the shoes thing. You might want to try SouthGate Mall (http://westfield.com/southgate/ourstores/shoes-45.html - broken link). They have Saks and Ann Taylor. Or the Ellenton Outlet Mall.

Mrs S is the shoe king.
Last visit she was in DSW for ages, when she finally got to the checkout the assistant asked for her name for the computer and I chipped in 'Imelda marcos'. Neither of them got it.

She visits DSW in the Port Charlotte mall and also dragged me to Aldo in Sarasota (once we actually had to divert there on the way to the airport -honest !)

They carry fun, affordable (yes, don't fall over on this), did I say affordable....shoes at Foot Lites on St. Armand's circle. I always get compliments on my shoes & that's where I get them. See photo.

Those are adorable! I totally forgot about St Armand's! I have a childhood friends that own Carmen's Shoes on the circle but I think they are mostly traditional shoes and not a lot of funky ones.

Good luck with your search
