Home Depot and the Fireplace stores don't seem to sell outdoor propane heaters. Are they a New Mexico no-no? Was thinking of ordering one to have it shipped but as they aren't sold in local stores I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious about propane tanks, etc. with fire risk? Thanks for the help.

I have seen them at Home Depot and at Lowes.

Have you ever used one? I'm curious how long a $20.00 propane charge will last...

La Hacienda Restuarant in Old Town has some permanent outdoor natural heaters.

Chimineas and Fire Pits seem more popular...

I guess the outdoor New Mexico Style or Southwestern Outdoor Fireplace is popular:

Hmmm, I've seen patio heaters advertised locally and have seen them at restaurants and homes around town. They are quite effective at keeping the cold at bay. I do not know how long one of them run on a tank of propane - interesting question.
But to get to your basic inquiry, I'm not aware of any prohibition of patio heaters anyplace in Santa Fe.

I usually see them at Home Depot, Lowe's, Sam's Club and Costco. Usually at the beginning of fall.

I like the outdoor fireplace. It must take the chill out of a cool evening.
