My youngest daughter is coming this Friday for a ten day visit.
She's been singing pretty frequently around Maryland for the past year, and has a regular Tuesday night gig, and one of the local night spots.
She asked me about singing in Santa Fe, but that's a subject I know nothing about??
Does anyone know of a few open mic nights in Santa Fe, that a 21 year-old would feel comfortable singing in?

THANKS!!

Steve

I always found Karaoke in Cowgirls to be fun when I am in Santa Fe.

Never heard of it (I sang Karaoke in Spanish while I was in Japan in the 80's, they said I was great, which meant "keep your day job")

So I looked up Open Mikes, could not find any in Santa Fe but there are some throughout New Mexico, and an organization: openmikes.org : music open mike nights in the United States and Canada

Good luck!

Rich

Santa Fe Brewing Pub & Grill use to have an open mike night--went there last year with my son's girlfriend who got up and sang and played the mandolin. I think it might no longer be open but I'm not sure.

Try checking with Tiny's or the Cowlgirl. They have a lot of music and if they don't have a night they might know someone who does.

Here are some sites that mention open-mike sessions in Santa Fe. Not sure how current they are though:

Coffeehouses Santa Fe New Mexico (look at Aztec and Java Joes)

Open Mic at the Santa Fe Brewing Company (http://www.thesantafevip.com/santafebars/open-mic-at-the-santa-fe-brewing-company/ - broken link)

Hey Gearhound, Did you find anywhere? I saw in Pasa Tiempo that Tiny's had a Karoke night but I didn't see any open mike nights listed.

The Mine Shaft in Madrid has an open mic night on Fridays.
Java Joes and a few other places also have open mic nights.

She's not sure if she's gonna try do The Mineshaft open mic or not Rich?
Java Joe's open mic is also on Friday night, and it's much closer to the house.
