I work for a large tech company in the Bay Area. I'm 25, unmarried, and currently renting in Mountain View. In the next several years I'd like to consider buying a home. I love mountain view but I don't see myself affording a million dollar home. Can you guys recommend areas that you think I might like that are less expensive but still nice (and not too far away. Commute is important). Thanks

You'll need to be much more specific...

Budget? Distance? Desired amenities/needs?

Does it have to be a single family home? Would you be okay with a condo or townhome? Cheaper, and then you can stay where you want... Especially if it allows you to live closer to work (I can't repeat myself enough, shorter commutes trump just about everything else when it comes to where to live).

cheaper places are in north sunnyvale(you'll have 49ers 5 miles away?), east san jose (hillview and east side dr look nice for some), boulder creek (beautiful but remote), senter and monterey rd in sj (gangsta rappers?)

Hey, that stadium might present a rare opportunity to grab a SFH from angry residents getting out of there before next summer. OTOH, they might be able to bump up the price for Niner fans...
