for the past couple of weeks, i've noticed an odd chemical-oniony smell in the air in the mornings, and my car has a nasty film on it. does anyone know if the city is spraying for mosquitoes or something? if so, what are they spraying?

I noticed that smell, too! But for me I noticed it late at night. I kept wondering if my neighbors had a garden or something.

Default mocap - ethropop - organophosphate

so, after some research online, i think it's mocap - a pesticide (organophosphate). lovely. that would explain my allergies acting up, and my dogs refusing to go outside in the mornings.

Is this related to aerial spraying to kill mosquitoes, due to west nile virus showing up in the area?

Sounds to me like you're smelling the garlic factory in Gilroy. I've lived in south San Jose for many years and never detected any kind of insecticide spraying. But I can smell the garlic on most mornings depending on the weather.

no, i don't think it's for mosquitoes. i do't think they use mocap for that. and i don't think it's the garlic facotry. i've driven through gilroy, and i know the garlic smell. it's definitely more oniony, and fake oniony (if that makes any sense) at that.

It's absurd to think they're spraying pesticides every night. It's the garlic factory. It smells just the way you describe in the early mornings. Ask your neighbors.

Default Not garlic!

AH HAHAHA It's NOT garlic. ALL THE WAY over where the garlic is smells WAY better. And it's not every night either. It's disgusting, though.

You seem pretty confident for a person who forgot their login and had to create a second account.
