They always remind me of Europe.

I'm sure they are fun and practical, but they scream pretentious to me. Perhaps it's just the trendiness of it...

Regardless, to each their own

I've seen these used more for commercial purposes (we have a real estate agent here who has one to ferry around prospective Chinese home buyers), but I wasn't aware that private households were buying them.

M-B has a minivan called the Metris, but in features and value for money, it scores poorly against a Honda Odyssey Touring van or a top of the line Toyota Sienna.

Just saw one on a camping trip up by Russian River. My friend thought it would make a great place to live.

Mercedes passenger vans seem very bare-boned compared to other brands as far as appointments-nothing like their cars. I think it's because the vans were usually for work/utility.

I could see myself getting one to RV in when I retire. I like how they arent so huge.

These vans are like a cross between an SUV and a minivan and are highly configurable. They would make an awesome family vehicle but not necessarily a great RV. You'd have to customize it so much to work as a real RV, you might as well just buy a Roadtrek at that point.

Yes, that is what my friend said. You could have a fold out bed installed in the back.

Skip the Mercedes, I had a 2015 for 36,000 miles and they just aren't dependable.

Too many sensors throwing codes that cause a trip back to the dealer or cause the van to go in limp mode (reduced power) and requires a tow.

Sounds like a huge hassle.
