It wasn't the camera (or more precisely the lense), that gave that effect, it was the software. You can get that kind of effect with a lense/camera by minimizing the depth of field, but you won't be able to keep the street in focus like that. The area in focus would be parallel to your camera's sensor.

In that last batch of photos looks like you walked into the SE corner of the Sunset. That's what's cool about Forest Hill, it's in a really excellent location for reaching out to other parts of the City.

Correct, that last row of houses is basically across the street from Forest Hill. Technically, I believe, it's Golden Gate Heights, but I too generally think of it as Sunset.

What I think is even cooler is the Forest Hill MUNI station. With several lines going through, it's great for getting down to quite a few spots in the city.
