A friend of mine is considering renting a room on Treasure Island. Is that a good idea?

Sure, why not? It has 24 hour bus service to downtown and you can drive out to the peninsula via the Bay Bridge without paying a toll. Plus it's a really cool little place.

I had a friend who lived on TI when he was working on a movie out there. The only thing that I don't like about Treasure Island is that you have to cross the bridge for pretty much everything, so if there is traffic and you need to run to the store for something other than what is carried at the local mini mart, you're screwed. I don't plan ahead well enough to live on an island.

Does Safeway deliver out there? That's the real question.

Default come on...

Sorry Randy ... but we get sooo lazy living in urban America. You don't have to go the entire distance of the bridge ... just the half section to SF ... and look at all the money you save on tolls!

There's some great spots to live on TI. But there's also some ... well ... it all used to be base housing. You can live where the officers used to live ... or you can live where the non-commmisoned officers used to live (more crowded) ... or you can ... um ... live where the enlsited married folks lived. (smile)

Check it out for yourself. Just do your shopping before you go home. It's not the Rocky Mountains though.
