I am looking to move from New York to San Francisco some time this year, and the past couple times i have visited, most area just seemed to loud for my liking to live in. Im looking to stay as close as i can to the east side of the bay area.

Yeah, look into the East Bay. Somewhere in the hills in Berkeley or Oakland would be pretty quiet.

In San Francisco, Potrero Hill is pretty quiet on some streets. Otherwise you need to go out to the Outer Richmond or Outer Sunset for real quiet but then you're socked in by fog and pretty isolated out there.

What's your budget? Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights and Presidio are very quiet neighborhoods. Noe Valley is also quiet the farther you move away from Castro.
