Hi,

I am currently looking for ways to secure a sponsored job to work in california, all of the jobs on monster are reasonable but I really want to reach out to the recruiters, so they can take my cv and proactively seek work like we have in England, i am sure its a big industry in the states, i am simply not aware of any. So ultimately i was hoping for some recommendations.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

Thanks

Dan

At the very least, tell us what industry you're interested in working in maybe?

Guinness would be a good sponsor, no? Boddingtons? Carling?

Hi Dan:

My expertise lies in U.S. immigration law, though I'm originally from Italy.

Your biggest problem is not the recruiter issue, but the immigration issue. Depending on your industry, your education and so on, the employer may or may not be able to sponsor you for a non-immigrant (that is, temporary) employment visa. The recruiter won't be able to sponsor you for that (since the recruiter does not employ you).

A lot of employers - due to cost cutting and so on - are no longer sponsoring visas. However, in a lot of industries where the need for qualified and skilled people is great, you are more likely to find an employer that is willing to pay the high fees and costs related to your visa (these can be considerable, depending on visa category).

In the end, your options will be determined by what you do, how much in demand your occupation is and your education.

I know this is a very nebulous post but unless you tell us more about what you do, then it will be very difficult to say - one way or the other.
