Hi. I'm going to working in Burlingame but really want to live in the city (preferrably Marina area). Is it a carzy commute? Goggle maps says average commute is 40 minutes in traffic, but I'm sure that doesn't account for morning rush hour. My work hours will likely be 8-5, but I'm willing to go to the gym at 6:30am if anyone thinks that will signifianlty decrease my travel time. I would also consider BART/Caltrain if anyone thinks that would work.

Any help/ideas/comments are greatly appreciated

Thats a pretty easy commute, it does not take too long to get from Burlingame to the Marina.

I worked in Burlingame for 2 years and at various times commuted from San Francisco's Sunset, South San Francisco, Redwood City and San Jose.. in SF the problem is getting out of town on surface streets, 280 is not a big issue though the connection to 380 can be heavy. The commute from SSF was the easiest one, never took me more than 20 minutes.

Thanks for your quick replies =) I'm from Honolulu, Hawaii originally and haved lived in LA this past year, so I'm used to traffic. I'm willing to do an hour commute to live in the city. I will check out SSF and Sunset areas too. Any other neighborhoods you could suggest? I love citys in which I can walk to a lot of things (restaurants, bars, gym, etc)

Oh, none of the places I lived are anything like the Marina.. you'd be comparing apples and oranges. Just saying I have experience coming into Burlingame from a few different directions. If you like the Marina, you could also check out Pacific Heights or the North of Panhandle.
