Did you tell your landlord this? Perhaps if you showed him the paperwork that the payment was initiated before the month is over, and that you didn't realize it was going to be late he'd give you the benefit of the doubt.

My manager want me to pay late fee. I live at apt for 17 years never late until recently due I use bill payment from my bank did it on the 3rd but ended up posted on the 8th reason it late. Manager charge me 100 for late fee when contract say 75 dollars still too high especially living on ssdi.
