I'm moving to SD To go to San Diego State. I have 2 kids (twins)that will be starting 7th grade so I need to be in a good school district for them, somewhat close to the beach and the University! Help!!!!

Then you don't want to live in the San Diego Unified District. The school will depend on where you live, they go by your address. You can't pick and choose either. 7th grade will be middle school, not high school.

Hi Thanks
I know how the districts work. I want to move in a district that has good schools. I said junior high which is a middle school. If you know of any good schools in the SD area let me know so I can check em out while I am there, Thanks

Look at Pershing Middle in San Carlos, it is 10 minutes from SDSU. Otherwise you will end up more in the 30+ minutes range, i.e. Scripps Ranch or Poway.

As far as test scores and demographics, all middle schools in the area are fairly similar to each other. Lewis Middle in Allied Gardens, Pershing Middle in San Carlos, La Mesa Middle and Parkway Middle in La Mesa. On greatschools.net, Pershing is 6, La Mesa is 7, Lewis and Parkway are 8. Lewis is two times closer to SDSU than Pershing.
