wow. Can't really narrow it down. Hmmm. I guess the beaches, the strong sense of community here, the diversity of the city and its different neighborhoods, the downtown Highway 101 business strip that is so cool and funky and charming. I guess that's about it. Just really glad and lucky that I live here and can raise my family here, that's all.

I'll ditto this post. We didn't actually live in Encinitas but close enough (La Costa) that we did more there than in Carlsbad.
