I've never seen a water bug out here in El Cajon.
Do these bugs stay outside or inside your home ?
What town do you live in ?

They're all over the city.

They usually stay outside.

Make sure you don't have ice plant or heavy vegetation butting up against your house, especially near any doors. They also like damp and moist areas so make sure you don't have a floor drain in your garage as that is the perfect environment for them. Any food on the floor like cat food is asking for it.

Raid. Get the cracks in the walls, floor, wherever.

*Hate* those things. I feel for you.

They turned up in my place when construction was going on next door. Freaked me out!~! They live in the sewer pipes and they let thousands of them loose hooking up the sewer over there. For 5 dollars, I got some do-it-yourself 6-month bug spray at Home Depot, and blasted the place to kingdom come all around the house, every door and window. and near every water source in my house. Have not seen one since!
