Did you see where Eddie came back for an alumni fundraiser a few months back and sang some songs with his old high school band?

San Dieguito (or "Sandy Ghetto" as we Torrey Pines folks used to call it ) has a few famous alums or former students, including Eddie. Tennis player Michael Chang, Tom Dempsey who used to hold the NFL record for longest field goal (he had a club foot) and Tim and Jon Foreman from Switchfoot. I'm pretty sure Tony Hawk went to Carlsbad and Torrey Pines.

Didn't San Dieguito High School close in the 90's???

I graduated from San Dieguito in 93, I think it turned into the Academy closely thereafter.

I remember when I went to Oak Crest Junior High down the street, Tony Hawk came into the auditorium to talk to us about skateboarding. Pretty cool.

San Dieguito had several famous alums as well as the ones already mentioned - Rob Machado (surfer), Frankie Hejduk (soccer) - I used to buy clothes off him when he was a sponsored surfer in high school, Allie Kemp (soccer), Taryn Manning (actress)....the list goes on

Yes, San Dieguito became San Dieguito Academy when La Costa Canyon opened in the 90s. It's now one of the top-ranked schools in the county and the state, with an amazing music and theater and robotics program. My kids likely will go there in the coming years.

I've been a Pearl Jam Ten Club member since 2000 so I love me some Eddie Vedder and all things Pearl Jam related.

If anyone is close with him, hook a brother up and arrange a meet and greet for me next time he's in town!

Oh...and please come back and play in SD soon PJ!!!!
