Last year's fireworks show off the Ocean Beach pier wasn't too bad (better than the SD Bay show I hear). I still haven't figured out what the deal was with all the marshmallows being tossed.

Did the ones from the OB pier somehow escape being detonated all at once like all of the other displays? Or are they run by a seperate company? I was under the impression that the same vendor runs all of the city of San Diego's displays.

from the Solana Circle hill in Solana Beach overlooking the Del Mar Fair show, on a clear night you can see La Jolla Cove and Fairbanks Ranch in the distance, so it's three for one.

Climb a mountain! Top of Cowles, Bernardo Mountain, Mt Woodson, or Iron Mountain are great places for 360-degree fireworks shows

Just remember to strap on a headlamp for the way back down, not too much moon this year

The OB show lasted about 15 or so minutes. Not sure if it was the same company as the others or different. I only heard of the bay show prematurely detonating. Supposedly that company was to "credit" the city with another show; I never heard if they fulfilled it or not, but it was mentioned that it might not be for a while as they were booked through most of the year.

Here's a short video I took (maybe NSFW due to some language):

We got them every night now from Sea World around 10PM. I can just look out my front window, and there they are.

If you are watching from Mission Bay in the vicinity of Fiesta Island, you can see several displays on July 4th.

The San Diego Bay display is not too far from this area, and is usually the best show overall.

The Seaworld display is right there next to Fiesta Island, so you will see it up close.

The OB and PB displays are also visible from a distance.

Bring binoculars, and they will all look even closer.
