I am a HUGE MLS soccer fan, and for years now Ive been reading/hearing that San Diego is getting a team, soon. San Diego has been called "Soccer City America" in a few articles I have read. San Diego also has more viewers tune into an MLS game than any other city in America, so to me, its crazy they don't have one yet.
What do you think is holding San Diego back from getting a team? And what do you think about getting a team? I think with the heavy Hispanic culture, it would thrive in SD.

I agree. I am a HUGE soccer fan.

We do have the Xolos in TJ who are the Primera champs, but as far as MLS expansion here? Have not heard anything concrete. LA has two teams lol

You are right, I had read that the viewership numbers across the whole country were largest here in SD.

Yeah and its so bizarre to me that with the viewing #s SD pulls, they have yet to get a team. I would say the 2 teams in LA is dumb, and it usually is, but with the way Chivas is playing this year, it seems to finally be working... Lets see if Chivas can keep it up though.

I honestly think the San Diego market would support a MLS Team.We supported the San Diego Soccers in the the mid to late 80's.

And now. The Soccers just won anotther championship.

I love going to the Rapids games out here. I am surprised San Diego doesn't have an outdoor team. Maybe it is a matter of where they would play. Jack Murphy (Yes, I still call it that) is too big for an MLS team.

The MLS should have relocated LA Chivas to SD than contraction.

I don't understand why the MLS decides to place another team in NYC & LA rather place in other potential cities: Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Ottawa, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Diego, St. Louis, etc.

I would love an MLS team in SD. I think Indy wants one too.
