Two massive corporations run by self-serving one percenters haggling over their shares of a huge pie, using customers as bargaining chips?

This is the first I heard about this so thank you for posting it. I doubt they will let channel 8 go they will probably wait until they last few hours then accept an offer. I will be calling Time Warner to complain, as suggested by channel 8.

I wonder if they are going to let people out of contract if they drop channel 8? I am stuck in a 2year contract with them, did not want it but was the only way to get the cheapest price for the bundle i wanted.

Even if they do it's the same news on 5, 6, 7, 9 etc. The only thing I can thing of would be NFL games that would be different.

I like 60 Minutes but I have a wide enough screen monitor that I can easily watch it online. Why is it that you can choose between several companies for phone services that use the same lines, but you don't have that option with cable companies?

Good question! I remember way back when your only landline option was Pacific Bell, then the FCC (if I remember right) changed the laws which opened it up for anyone to offer services within Pac Bell's area. For some reason they wont do this for cable TV.

Because the startup is outrageously expensive and the medium doesn't cross over well between Companies. Twisted, Co-ax, fiber, yada yada.
