Murder-suicide. Dad, depressed and with money woes, drowns his wife and 2 daughters, then ties weights to himself and drowns.
What I don't get is this: if you're depressed, so be it. Want to die? OK, then kill yourself. But why do you have to wipe out the rest of the family too???

I dont think anyone has the facts yet. Nonetheless its very sad. I am hoping it wasnt what PollyGlott said, as the reason. We would really be in a sad state if it was.

I was just paraphrasing the news:

"A man is believed to have killed his wife and two daughters before drowning himself at the family's Bay Terraces home, a source told NBCSanDiego's Tony Shin.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Alfredo Pimienta, 44, left a suicide note inside the residence at 162 Parkcreek Ct.
Alfredo was depressed, in part because the family was struggling financially, the source said.
Alfredo was found drowned with a heavy object anchored to him in the house's backyard swimming pool, the source said."

Damn. Like he isn't the only one with money problems? Jesus. I'm sorry but this is the behavior of a coward. Prayers to the rest of the family dealing with this selfish act by this ****.

Pure selfishness in my book. Oh, I am sooo-sooo great that if I die my family must come with me.

It is all religious BS that we have all been fed since childhood. Things like they are in a better place now. Or they are at peace with God now.

NO, they are just dead! Period!

Many yrs back my uncle planned to kill himself & his wife on their anniversary. My aunt had a strange feeling about this so she told my uncle she was ill. Later that night my uncle put a shotgun barrel in his mouth & pulled the trigger. He did leave a suicide note & he did state that he wanted to kill his wife as well. I cant find any new about this online. It happened in 1978 just outside of johnstown, penna. If anyone can help me locate the news articles or whatever then please pm me. Thanks!

there is no religion that condones murdering your family (or anyone else for that matter) so they can be with you in a better place. Christian religion believes if you murder, then you will be going to hell, which isn't a better place. So I find it hard to believe that any religious beliefs had anything to do with this.

Anyway, what I don't get is that the family was of age that they could have fought back (between the 3 of them) since you can only drown one person at a time. I'm thinking maybe they were killed another way and then thrown into the pool.

Don't mean to get on a religion discussion nor am I blaming the family in any way, they are truly the victims here.

What a tragic story...
