I am single mom looking into moving from Glendale, CA to the Rancho Cucamonga area. Would like to live in an area similar to Glendale (with shopping, restaurants, etc.) but far less expensive rent. Looking for 1 or 2 bedroom for under $1000. I've checked out some apts on Craigslist and they look WONDERFUL (compared to the dumpy Jr. 1-bedroom I pay $1000 for now). Can anyone tell me about the nice areas to rent in, shopping, restaurants, climate, any info will be greatly appreciated!

Apartments Communities - Lewis Apartments

Check out Lewis Apartment Communities. They have a lot of different communities. Tons of shopping centers/restraunts/ and they have a beautiful outdoor mall called "Victoria Gardens"

Rancho Cucamonga off the 15 free is beautiful, those are where most of the Lewis communities are. You might find a 1 bedroom for less than $1,000. If you can expand your budget another $100-$200 bucks then you will be living happy.

All of their apartment communities are beautiful. I know first hand...I was their Heating & AC vendor when I use to do A/C work. I knew all the maintenance/office personal for most communities well. It was over a span of 3 years.

The Lewis community also has on site maintenance who do a fabulous job. They go up and above for their tenants. They have awesome community areas within the complex. Such as Business centers, Billiards, Kids After School programs, Banquet rooms, etc.

Where's work? You're not going to be saving any money if you have to drive another 50 miles a day, add a lot of stress due to traffic, and additional wear/tear on your car.

I live footsteps away from the 210 and Archibald Ave, and I have to say that anywhere in a 10mi radius is beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to come over, drive around, and take a good look at any place east of Mountain Ave, North of the I-10 and west of Etiwanda Ave (roughly a 75 sq mi area). I'm not suggesting that beyond these boundaries it's not as nice, but I don't know the area that well well beyond my neighborhood.
