Welcome to Temecula!

  • Enjoy Old Town (especially over the weekend, although it gets crowded especially when there's an event).
  • Enjoy the Wineries (if you drink) - best bet is to go at off times and certainly not during holidays when everyone seems to come and visit.
  • I guess you can enjoy Pechanga Casino if you like to gamble, but to be quite honest I'd still rather make a weekend of it in Vegas. They do get quite a few shows there though.
  • 4th of July is coming up, depending where you are you can enjoy a nice firework show by Pechange... as long as you have a decent SW view (I have been lucky enough to have a clear view of it from my home the past few years - I won't when I move soon).
  • Do yourself a favor and stay away from the mall unless you have to... its always crazy up there (traffic/parking - wise)... even with the new parking garage.
  • If you're looking for other "drinking establishments" besides the wineries & Pechanga, there's Kilarney's (a really good Irish Pub) or Barley's (another pub, not as good as Kilarneys). Both of them are on Temecula Freeway (79S). There's also Texas Loosies (I would NOT recommend eating there), but I hear the beer is cold... I guess that's a plus.

Don't let the attitude's bug you. Its not as bad if you have the right outlook.

Just enjoy driving around in your jacked up SUV... you do have one of those, right? If not, how'd they let you in town? haha. kidding of course.

How is the crime rate there?

Is this a safe place to raise kids?

Do people commute from this town to San Bernardino area for work?

If you have any photos of this area please post them for that I can see the good and bad of the areas there.

Thanks

sounds interesting... I currently live in the high desert and saw your post and was curious about temecula. what made you move out to temecula? I only have been living up here for about a year and it's okay. This is my first home so I don't want to stay too long (if thats even possible). Is it a place nice place to raise families? I just came back from vactioning in escondido and i didn't realize how close temecula is from there and san diego county!
