Hi! Me and my son are moving to Yucca Valley in half a year and I will have to put my son into the high school there. Does anyone here know anything about it? Is it safe? My son is mixed, white/black. Do you know anyone who has had their kids there and how did they like it?

And how is Yucca Valley as an area to live anyway?

We could also consider moving to any other nearby area, max 1 hours drive from Yucca Valley, if there are better public high schools anywhere else around there?

Thanks so much!

The climate is nice in Yucca, and you can get a good price on a house for California. My daughter went to continuation high school in Yucca. They made a documentary about the school a few years back. She liked the school and got a lot out of the program, but it can be depressing dealing with the at-risk youth. I think races are fairly diverse in this area, but my daughter did have to deal with some racist kids. It is mostly a lower income area, which does have it's drawbacks. If you are working in Yucca, I would stay in Yucca, and find a good neighborhood.
