Looking at purchasing a home (4+ beds & 2+ bath) within the next 6-8 months so trying to get a feel for what areas my family and I will like. 2 kids (12/13 yrs old) are home schooled and have another 2 (1/2 yrs old). Currently living in Eastvale but want something we can call our own and these 3 cities seem to intrigue us the most. I currently work in Newport Beach and the drive isn't bad since I leave the house at the crack of dawn to beat traffic and I realize the cities I've mentioned are further away but it will be worth it if it's the right home.

Right now, all signs point to Yucaipa then Redlands with Murrietta a distant third. We are heading to Oak Tree Village next week and at the same time check out Yucaipa.

I've done a lot of zillow, trulia and google earth to check out the surroundings and I've noticed the 3 communities I like the most in Yucaipa are wildwood, whisper ranch and chapman heights. Anything else I should look at or be aware of?

Any and all help is great appreciated.

Thanks

I'd check with a psychologist if you're going to flagellate yourself with that kind of commute and schedule.

Of those 3 cities, I'd choose Murietta due to it's cleaner air and more rural lifestyle.

In reality though, I'd choose Corona for long-term sanity.

All three are a farther drive, but Murrieta would be the best. I lived there for 9 years and it is a good area for family. Not so good for commuting. Have you looked at the Ortega Hwy (windy and 2 lanes) from Lake Elsinore to the coast?

All 3 areas mentioned are decent. My advice it to work closer to where you live really. Life isn't meant for rotting in traffic.
