My husband and I are moving to California at the end of June. His job will be headquartered in Riverside. We are newly married...late 20's/early 30's. Would like to move to a town where people are friendly and easy to meet, there are good school districts, and that has a downtown that even if small, has something to offer. We'd like to live in a nice neighborhood but can't afford anything crazy. We are considering Riverside (have heard mixed reviews), Chino, Chino Hills, and Corona. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

Welcome to the area! Riverside and Chino will likely be more affordable, but Corona has some reasonably priced areas as well. Chino Hills will definitely be more expensive, but without knowing what price range you are looking for, it's hard to know if it's too expensive. Honestly, I recommend renting for a few months before trying to purchase anything. Give yourselves a chance to get to know the different areas, and also adjust to the massive amounts of traffic you will have living in this area.

Another thing to keep in mind, the number one rule for southern CA is to live as close to work as possible. However, if he is working in Riverside, then living in these other areas would actually be a reverse commute on the 91fwy (westbound in the am, and eastbound in the pm are really bad commutes). Corona wouldn't be a bad drive, but Chino and Chino Hills would probably tack on some significant time.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask or PM me directly. Good luck with your move!
