I can't WAIT until in the morning! Fresh fruits and veggies!

Farmers market coming to Live Oak Civic Center in May

"Farm-fresh fruits and vegetables are coming to a civic center near you, if you happen to live in Live Oak or any of its neighboring cities.
Freshly picked produce from Lytle will be available every Tuesday starting May 4 at the Live Oak Civic Center as the South Texas Farmers Market brings its bevy of locally grown produce to the Metrocom."

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm also very excited about this and hadn't heard about it. Did you go today? How was it?

Probably because the Live Oak Civic Center is booked every weekend for shows/events.

It is a shame though that many with traditional working hours may not be able to take advantage of it.

If the hours of the Live Oak market don't suit you, there are other markets in nearby areas that may.

I am sure, I am not the only one thinking that those odd hours are not too good for business...

Yes, I did go. It was very small, but it was the first week. I am hoping it will grow as time goes on. It is an odd day, but, with retired folks and such, I'm hoping it will make it. I got fresh tomatoes, onions and squash, and they are EXCELLENT! There is also a guy there with fresh milk! I've actually never had it, but I plan on getting some next week! What a treat for the family!

Most Farmer's Markets are only once a week and limited hours. Probably because many of the vendors come from out of town. At least practically every single one I have ever been was that way. There is also one in Schertz (at Pickrell Park) that is I believe on Tuesdays as well as one in Leon Valley also on Tuesdays at the library parking lot 8-12noon I think.
