Sounds like things are on track for the project to begin. It's needed, but the headache that it will cause is not (argh!). The expansion of 10 from 410 to medical is a distant memory, but I remember my parents whining about it when it happened.

I know not a lot of y'all use the area, but it is of interest to a few of us. I'm not planning on going over there (American Idol is on!) but will be interested to hear what happens on the news.

Public Hearing - I-10 from Loop 1604 to Huebner Road

Where: Tom C. Clark High School
5150 De Zavala Road
San Antonio, TX
When: Wednesday, January 13, 2010
7 p.m. Purpose: A public hearing to discuss proposed improvements to I-10 from Loop 1604 to Huebner Road.

Description: The proposed project would include:
  • Additional lanes to 4.1 miles of I-10
  • Replace overpass at De Zavala Road

I agree, but I think that the mess up at I-10 needs to be fixed first, because all of that congestion is part of what is backing up 1604 in the morning.

That should be from 1604/Potranco to I-10.

Whatever it is....this comes first. It's needed to be done for the last 20 plus years.

And spare me the hate responses...please. I know, I know, I know tons of you sit through that traffic everyday. I sit through this traffic everyday.

Why are they replacing the overpass at De Zavala? I thought there wasn't any money for overpasses. Why don't they just demolish the bridge if it's not traffic worthy and put in a traffic light?

Federal vs. state highway I believe. I-10 is fed, Loop 1604 is state.

I definitely think that they need to widen I-10 but I do not agree with the they should close a couple of the ramps that were mentioned in the video. Did anyone go to the meeting, was this discussed more in detail?
