I have been reading all your posts and just thought I add my 2 cents worth. I just like some education on the matter on why the heck do people who take the entrance ramp to enter the freeway immediately take the next exit off? This is utterly pointless since no intersections are passed in this manner yet and on the slow lane have to slow down/speed up for no reason! Please don't use the excuse that excercising this manuever will get he/she to yield driving on the access roads to slow down or stop for those idiots coming off the exit ramp. I believe TXDOT alleviated by doing away with most yield signs and placing " do not cross double white lines" or something like that

Yeah I guess you're right. Some things just can't be explained.

Thanks Sapphire!

How 'bout those people who purposely speed up when they can clearly see you are trying to get on the freeway? What's up with that???

I'm guilty of this practice but only because sometimes the person merging unto the freeway is too slow. If the person merges in front of me, I will then have too slow down and I am afraid of being hit by the person behind me.

Some of these persons need to realize that they need to build up to the same speed of the freeway.

Of course, there are some that I don't know why they speed up. I guess they want to be 1st.

Isn't there's almost always an intersection in between entrance and exit ramps? So I guess that's most likely the reason drivers do that? If they do that and there was no intersection, then they probably were not familiar with the area and thought there was in intersection. I don't see a problem on that...

I can only think of a few places where this isn't the case (IH10 W btwn DeZavala & UTSA, I10E btwn Huebner & Wurzbach...to name a couple - I'm sure there's more out there) but most places you do avoid an intersection by getting on the highway.

"Yield" and "Merge" mean the same thing in San Antonio. Always have and always will.

I think we should keep merge and go away with yield. A lot of people "stop" on yield signs...

You should have run for mayor with that campaign promise. You would have had my vote!
