Pivotal Decision Set on Tolling Two San Antonio Freeways

Activist groups indicate that this is the meeting not to miss; to take place Oct. 26 at an area shrine temple along one of the highways in question

By Mark Anderson, American Free Press corresponding editor; www.AmericanFreePress.net, and host of RBN’s When Worlds Collide, Saturdays, 7 to 9 p.m. Central; email host at truthhound2@yahoo.com

Writer’s note: A TURF representative is tentatively scheduled to be on Anderson’s Oct. 17 radio show between 7 and 8 p.m.; the host will cover this issue, among other hot developments, even if such a guest cannot appear. Listeners are invited to call in, 800-313-9443.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Opponents of the Trans-Texas Corridor and the tolling of freeways don’t want to have to say “we ‘tolled’ you so” to anyone concerned about these matters who misses their chance to provide input at a governmental meeting Oct. 26 and help kill the tolling of freeways.
According to the ever-vigilant groups Texans United for Reform and Freedom (TURF), and the San Antonio Toll Party, a meeting of the Metropolitan Planning Organization will feature a crucially-important vote that evening on whether to drop plans to toll U.S. 281 and the 1604 Loop in greater San Antonio.Moderator cut: remainder of copyrighted article

MPO has a duty to the citizens to improve mobility in this city. They should not let the lies of a few vocal opponents keep them from providing transportation relief. If tolls are the only viable option then I have no problem. Perhaps if driving becomes more expensive the narrow minded people will start accepting other forms of transportation (say light rail!).

Amen to that!! I wanted and voted for Light Rail back in 01? when Peak was in office but it lost miserably. If tolls are the only option, then so be it like you said.
