We've had memberships to both. Costco is cheaper on diapers vs Sams.

its usually that way for more stuff. where one might be cheaper the one is a little higher in price. Overall i personally like costco .

costco seems cleaner (like target) as opposed to sams (more like dumpy wal-mart).

I had both for a few years after the Sonterra Costco opened. I'm fairly price sensitive, so I was aware of the things that Sam's was cheaper on. Despite that, I preferred the selection and brands at Costco and now am exclusively a Costco member.

I prefer Costco, although they carry many of the same items. Since Costco is much closer to me, I go there more often.

I think it's really a personal preference, rather than price.

I think they are both the same animal, frankly. I've had memberships to both. My sister raved and raved about Costco, so after our Sam's membership was up, we got one over there. I can remember going into Costco for the first time, and my husband and I looking at each other and saying, "How is this different from Sam's?" It didn't seem all that different to us.

I've been a member at both, and both memberships were a waste of money for me. I just can't get into the bulk buying habit. Not gonna even waste my time trying to kid myself.

Costco seems more "upscale" somehow, but I didn't think Sam's was "dumpy".

We've had both and have gotten a lot of use since we still have a little one in diapers and at one point on formula. Sams carries Pampers which Costco (the one in Selma at least) didn't so that was a plus for us. They both kinda seemed the same to me in terms of selection/quality but Costco seemed slightly more expensive. I never thought Sams was "dumpy" and find it strange someone would say that...maybe just cause its a Walmart brand? Either way I would choose the one closest to your house.

I think Sam's is cheaper by a tad. I am not fond of Costco's Kirkland brand. One a different note: I was surprised when i found that Sam's Club accepts the LoneStar Card, I didn't think any of these member-type clubs accepted it. But hey, i guess they could use the extra $$.

I just found that out today.

And I agree about the Kirklands brand - kinda crummy on some of their items, though I can almost say for certain that their brand of diaper has to be identical to Huggies and my daughter did really well on their brand of baby formula.
