Sometimes it's crappy parking - like when they're just over the line and it's not a super fancy car, I'm more inclined to believe bad parking.

When the car straddles, quite clearly two spaces and it's usually a nicer, newer car, it's pretty clear it's to create a buffer zone around them.

Doesn't help that most parking lots are still marked for compact cars when most drive huge SUVs that barely fit in spaces anyway.

speaking of carts..... I was at the store the other day and trying to get to my truck (with a cart). I couldn't get thru the first four rows of cars because there were carts in the way .

When I'm going into the store I will take a cart from the parking lot with me (I try to do my part ).

One time, I was putting my cart back into the cart holder in the parking lot and someone had cleaned their trash out of their vehicle and left it in a cart. They tried to put it in a Walmart bag but it wouldn't all fit so they just put the rest of it in the cart.

These are the kind of people that think the world owes them .

What's sad is that in some countries this is NORMAL (India). The cleanest place I've ever been to was Canada. I actually spent a day trying to find trash on the roads.

Regarding cigarette butts, it is now even more dangerous with the dry grass and brush due to drought when these idiots flick their butts out of the car windows. I believe I heard last year that this was a cause of one of the CA wildfires. Lazy, inconsiderate, and dangerous.

12,000 to 13,000 reports are filed with DMWT yearly. That may not be "most people", but that's the amount of people who witnessed someone tossing something. I'm sure that hoards more wonder if the smoker in front of them will toss their cigarette...but their turn was coming up or they lost sight of the smoking driver.

Just beause it looks normal now (to you, perhaps) doesn't mean the offender shouldn't at least be called out on it. Sure, maybe some won't care or some will litter the bag and letter...but some of them may cease doing it, or at least think twice about doing it. That's what counts in my book. And sure, I would like to witness it and slap someone with a nice fine...but I don't want to be SAPD so I will continue doing the extent that I can: reporting litterers to DMWT (or other organizations like Arkansas' State Patrol which has a litter hotline), volunteering in road-side cleanups, and advocating for more trash recepticles in public areas (like my apartment complex, which only has the dumpster).

Just my two cents.

Has anyone ever noticed that NONE of the litterers, bad drivers, or offensive-in-any-way people EVER post on here? It's astonishing!

Thread after thread of tongue-cluckers and head-shakers. And no, I'm not a litterbug, either. I pick up half a garbage bag of trash every day when I walk my neighborhood. I live amongst PIGS. Well, their visitors are pigs, anyway.

I just wondered if anyone else had noticed the pattern here.

Yea, everyone that hasn't posted in this thread yet are litterers. Now we know why RD hasn't posted in this thread (I'm always picking on him).
