I'm a 19 year old single female considering moving to Texas. San Antonio is one place I'm considering. I have some general questions I would like answered.... **I will have a job lined up before I move to Texas so please do not ask me about my line of work/ job**
My situation is similar to this young womans post... https://www.city-data.com/forum/texas/2162-moving-texas.html

1.) Is SA a good place for young single people? If not what city do you reccommend?

2.) Which neighborhoods are the "better" ones in SA? (I have looked on other posts for the answer to this question but since I'm not from here saying north or east side is it's not helpful at all. Specific names of neighborhoods please)

3.) What job professions are most common here?

4.) Does anyone have reccomendations for a nice reasonably priced apartment complex ($400-600)

Any other comments or advice welcom and greatly appreaciated!! Thanks so much!!

-Daniela

As much as I love SA, I think Austin is more appropriate for a young single, regardless os gender. When you get married and have kids, move to SA. San Antonio is family, Austin is single. Or you can do as I do and live in between and enjoy both.

gy2020 is right. San Antonio, everyone here is married with family and kids. They can really circle their wagons here. As a matter of fact, I've been here over a decade and never made a friend here in San Antonio.

Austin and Houston are good to singles.

I met and married my husband right here in San Antonio. SA isn't death to the single person, I promise.

That's cold. You need to get out there and not let people treat you like that. Join some meet-up groups or get on this forum and start a meet and greet for singles.

Those that complain about our singles scene don't look hard enough...

I've lived here for just over 7 years, but made friends my first year.

Moderator cut: orphaned

I have made several friends in Houston so I know the problem is not me, it is where I am now, in San Antonio, and for many reasons that I cannot discuss here, I am not able to leave San Antonio for a few more years. There are needs that I have that Houston can meet, not San Antonio, and I can accept this as a temporary situation. Just because San Antonio cannot meet all my needs in this particular time of my life does not mean you have the right to call me names.
