I've worked with people that were 90% disabled, but they functioned just fine, most of the time.. It all depends on what's wrong with you and the funky VA formula is nearly impossible to understand. I should've been at 60%, but the VA moron couldn't read a date, so now I'm waiting on an appeal.
and nothing is easy to get, but all the learn everything you can before you retire classes helped me quite a bit. Most people think they don't qualify and they usually regret it later.

You will need to occupy the property. Military has nothing to do with it.
Once you relocate to TX, you will need to file the paperwork with the BCAD (Bexar County Appraisal District)

As far as claiming Homestead Exemption where you are now...I wouldn't know that answer.

One more thing. You have to occupy the house as of January 1st of that year. Once you applied you do not have to do it anymore. This exemption only applies to 1 house.

Me and my 2 boys were walking to the park yesterday, and before we got there, we saw a dead coral snake on the side of the road. First time I've seen a venomous snake, all though it was dead. It was about 20 inches in length and had a color pattern of black, yellow, red, yellow, black, yellow, etc... I wish I had my phone to take a picture. So have any of you seen a venomous snake in this area as well? Just curious.

Is this what it looked like? It should be a Texas Coral Snake, and yes, very strong venom (but they usually flee rather than bite).

We've had those at our old place on Sage Run - found a couple dead in the road right in front of our house! I think they come up the drainage area and out onto the road. Pretty scary!

Remember the old saying, "Red and yellow, kill a fellow; red and black, friendly jack". Good to know, but I never can remember it and I usually don't have access to google when I'm looking at one of these

My neighbor killed one on his front steps last year (Country Oaks).

I tell my kids to treat all snakes as poisonous - leave 'em alone.
