SATX123, I totally understand. Atonement is the extreme right of the Catholic Church. There are other good-hearted Catholic institutions out there who really want to help children and the community.

Hello,

We will be relocating to SA area this summer. I have read over some of the replys to the origional request and looked at the schools web sites. I was wondering if the origional (KRSTL1) found the answere to her question and if there are any pearls of advise in our search. Or if anyone could provide advise in our search. We have 2 boys who will be going into the 4th and 7th grades. They are very involved in club soccer as well. I will be stationed at Randolph AFB. Thanks

I work at the elem. school on base at Randolph. If you are looking for Catholic schools in the area, St. Monica is down the road in Converse, Our Lady of Perpetual Help is up the road in Selma and a brand new high school, John Paul II, opened up this year not too far up the road.

I have to say I also don't care for The Atonement. The only thing going for it are the buildings. I pulled my kid out the second week and lost a lot of money doing so. Having said that, I did go to Catholic school my elementary years and loved it and know not all schools are like that.

maybe check out greatschools.net --- i think you would be able to get a good feel for the catholic schools here by reading the parent reviews...

maybe check out St. Luke's --- there is a St. Luke's Catholic School and a St. Luke's Episcopal School --- i have heard really good things about the Episcopal School ---

good luck!!!
Our Son attended St John Bosco from pre K to 8TH. A GREAT School with a GREAT Faculty.

He attended Holy Cross which I hate to say should never have gone Coed. I knew lots of young men that also attended St John Bosco and grades fell, there were a couple of girls that had abortions. There were to many distractions (I guess that's what happens when there are too many boys and a few girls) and I'll assure you that was the consensus of most of the Parents that we knew.

As you know enrollment was droppping and that was one of the alternatives to keep both the School Open and Tuition Down. It was a good School overall. Our Son stayed focused for the most part and Graduated with Honors.
