Looking for a home in the Hill Country. Wondering why almost every house we look at in the Kerrville area has multiple crosses on the walls, inside and out. Even a gigantic cross on a hill facing I10. I don't have strong feeling about people's religious choices other than I think it's a private choice. Kind of creepy to see crosses everywhere. Thoughts?

My sister lives in Kerriville. It is a very homely, christian, good-ole-folks, F250 truck driving kind of city. I am not saying that in a 100% positive way as I do feel it could be a bit more diverse but it is what it is.

My sister has gotten used to it but she doesn't fit in with that type at all.

Bernie Tiede would have fit right in there. lol

The decor doesn’t come with the house. It’s rural Texas, there’s no much more to it then that.

You will notice it is common decor all over Texas to have multiples crosses around the house. Many people are Christian. If you are looking at houses in the valley or Mexico would you complain because there are a bunch of Virgin Mary statues and that sort of thing?

As for the crosses along highways and FM roads around the hill country. I have heard this has something to do with the rehabs. Trying to make people happier or something. I don't know where I heard this and I don't know if it is actually true.

Not complaining. Just find it curious that it seems so concentrated in K'ville.

What other areas are you looking into? I wouldn't think Kerrville is any more Christian than any other hill country town besides maybe Fredericksburg.

I am not complaining either. It is a great town but your observations are very much in-line with my own. You are not alone.
