I have an antenna and I have lost channel 9 and it's substations. This channel is PBS. I just did a channel auto tuning and it did not return. What do I need to do?

TIA.

Move it around until it comes back? Sometimes satélites move and you lose/gain tv stations.

5. If you watch KLRN over-the-air and are having problems receiving our signal

The first thing you should try is a double re-scan.

Disconnect the antenna lead-in from the input on your TV (or DTV receiver).
Go to the Set-Up menu of your TV (or DTV receiver) and find the command to "Scan for New Stations" and run that command. Let it finish.
Turn off and UNPLUG your TV (or DTV receiver) from the electrical power. Leave it unplugged for at least five minutes.
Re-connect the lead-in from your antenna to your TV (or DTV receiver).
Plug in and turn on your TV (or DTV receiver).
Return to the Set-Up Menu of your TV (or DTV receiver) and once again run the "Scan for New Stations" command.
Once you have tried this, if you are still having trouble, please e-mail our engineering department at dtv@klrn.org and someone will help you troubleshoot.

It's an OTA signal.....no satellites involved.

A question would be did you also lose KSAT 12? Both KLRN & KSAT are high-VHF channels, and both transmitters are located near each other near Elmendorf. Also, does it not work at all anytime you try, or does it sometimes come in, but other times it doesn't?

More than likely, it is either a marginal antenna for VHF reception, some type of signal interference, or transmitter problems at KLRN. VHF channels are generally more problematic for OTA reception. A channel re-scan doubtfully would have helped, but it was worth a try.

Two pieces of tin foil affixed to the end of the antennae tips used to help receive a signal...

we can never get PBS, they run a very low power signal. They are way down south west.

We are north east, and can't get it with an attic antenna.

Default Altitude,

Yes it is true an antennae Tower helps tremendously with altitude and then reception will improve.
Sometimes a lot sometimes only partially.
Radio reception improves dramatically also, with height.
