Since a lot of people ask about neighborhoods, and recently there was a question about how the southside neighborhoods differ from the north, I thought I'd show this link of the Lavaca Neighborhood. The pictures are a couple of years old. Many houses have been improved in that time (but the streets are all torn up).

My dad grew up in the Lavaca neighborhood. I love that area of town. The houses have so much character, not the "cookie cutters" that are so much in abundance! Great job on the renovations!

Thank you! I'll have to forward the link to my mom who grew up on Leigh Street in the 1940's-'50's.

As I've mentioned before (I think), I'm glad people like you had the vision and the determination to revitalize the area.

Your neighborhood is beautiful. I love your blog!!! I also have a taste for Thai food. Have you tried Thai Chili on Thousand Oaks? It's what made me fall in love with Thai!!!!
