Bandera Rd. seems to be tough for fast food restaurants for some reason or another. Years ago there were a McDonald's and a Wendy's across the street from each other just outside 410. They both eventually closed. Don't think I've seen either of those places close anywhere else.

Is there something about the traffic patterns there? Does Leon Valley have some kind of extra taxes or rules/laws?

Is the old Wendy’s the building with an attached caboose?

I don't think it's something with Leon Valley, per se. The former Wendy's on Bandera you are referring to is actually in the City Of San Antonio. The Bill Miller right next door is in City Of Leon Valley, though.

I can't think of any local McDonald's that have closed, at least without being replaced by a new one nearby. As for Wendy's, that's another story. I know a few of them have closed here over the years. A couple that come to mind off the top of my head would be the one on Nacogdoches just outside 410, and the one on Babcock just south of Huebner. As for the traffic patterns on Bandera Road, I can see where that could be detrimental to some businesses, especially fast food establishments, where difficulty getting in and out quickly can be detrimental to their business. The traffic is often congested, and in many cases, you can't make a left turn directly into or out of those places.

Yes, that's the one.

Before TXDOT added the Bandera fly over there was a lot more traffic between 410 and Wurzbach on Bandera. That may have a bit to do with the more recent struggle that restaurants have in that area, but I'm not sure since Henry's Puffy Tacos is still doing well from what I can tell. You have to be in that stretch of a quarter of a mile intentionally instead of just passing through. FWIW, there is a McDonald's a Callaghan and access road of 410 right before Bandera.

Wendy's went through a slew of closures recently. The Wendy's on Babcock had been there for ages and now is a taco place that seems very successful.

The McDonald's is at Evers and 410. Another intersection I would avoid if I traveled on that side of town.

Ugh. I should have remembered it was Evers.

I am confused why one would avoid 410 and Evers?
