Great story Faith, whatelse can you tell us about that area back in the 70's? Was sun harvest at the corner of Blanco and Lockhill Selma already there?

Does anybody remember "Rocky the Tailor" in the Sun Harvest center. We went to him for years. I think he retired sometime after 2000.

I liked the Sun Harvest there on Blanco, and was disappointed it closed. But back to talking about the Blanco-410 area anyone know when the Baskin Robbins strip was built?

I can remember it being there back in the mid-late 70's. I believe there was a litte nightclub or bar in the corner of that shopping center.

Does anyone remember the Grandy's Restaurant off of 281 north, where the Outback Steakbouse currently is located? I came across an old menu from there in my parent's garage, tattered beyond repair unfortunately, but it just brought lots of memories back. I remember liking their food, but it wasn't great. Plus i recall that there was very little out there at the time, almost the end of civilization.

I used to like the Grandy's, and they had a handful of locations around town. Heard that they may come back since Souper Salads now runs Grandy's.

That McDonalds and Pizza Hut have been there since I can remember......Before the Albertson's...it was a grocery store called SKaggs. Down by the las Palapas...my family used to go to a Chinese place called "The Jade Tree"
What was there before the HEB? I miss that Arby's. What was that before it was an Arbys? That only came around in the late 80's

The Las Palapas used to be a Winchells donut shop originally. The flower shop that used to be at the corner I believe was called flowers to go. One of the first fast food places to be opened on that corner was a Long John Silvers. There was also a GW Jr's there at one time. There was also a Church's fried chicken there. The GW Jr's was one of those pre-fabricated buildings that went up in about a week. The Albertsons that used to be was originally opened as a Skaggs-Albertsons then Skaggs dropped out of the partnership and it became Albertsons. I don't remember there being a Pizza Inn at the corner but next to McDonalds used to be a Pizza Hut. Does anyone remember Connies taco that used to be down West Ave past the Dairy Queen. How about the Wayne Bull auto parts store? I used to work there in the early 80's after i graduated high school.
