Yesterday I run into a situation where two women were rescuing a puppy that most likely was a "Christmas gift" and abandoned.
I am not sure about the breed, but it looks like some mix of German shepherd and husky. Very pretty, little puppy. Hungry and scared but unhurt, and friendly.

I took some pix while we were feeding him, and one of the ladies took him home, but said she can't keep him, and will call the Animal Control.
I wonder if anyone from our Forum would be interested to adopt him (her?). I would hate to see this dog in shelter and put to sleep.
I have this lady ph# and said, I will try to get him a good home. I promised that I will call her if someone show an interest in adoption.

Their found him here: lost, scared, dirty and hungry:

This poor little fellow ate two cans of dog food in a blink of an eye:

Anyone interested, please DM me.
Hopefully this lady didn't called AC yet....

Thank you

Wish I could take him, but I've got 6 pets already.

San Antonio Pets Alive works out of one of the buildings on the Animal Care Services campus. They pull animals from ACS and rescue with the intent of finding fosters or adopters....they also have a Facebook page. You might check with them to see if they can help with finding a foster.

How horrible. I am maxed out at the amount I can have.

Thank you for looking out for this little guy. I just don't understand people sometimes. Was he micro-chipped?

He may have run off during all the fireworks on NYE. Huskies have a real urge to run sometimes. You might see if there are any lost puppy signs up in your neighborhood or maybe on the bulletin board at the pet store.

Thanks for looking after this canine. We don't know that he was abandoned though, fireworks on NYE cause lots of animals to bolt and he may just have become lost and disoriented.

I checked and there was no sign of lost dog anywhere and the dog didn't had collar or tag.
I agree, we don't know if she was abandoned, but I got an update:
"Thank you so much for following up. Patti does indeed still have the dog (she is a girl, although we don’t know if she is spayed or not), and has named her D.D. (short for Drainage Dog). She got a bath and a big supper last night, and Patti found her a cushioned pet bed, and D.D. spent the night in Patti’s laundry room. She seems to be used to being inside, she didn’t have any accidents over night. Patti said that she would be happy to foster the dog until she can find a forever home, and will be taking D.D. to the vet for a checkup and to see if by chance she is microchipped. Please let us know if there is someone interested in giving her a good home. But know that she is in good hands and will be definitely cared for and probably a little spoiled too!"

Not that it's important, but if it could help at all, to me it looks like a Shiba Inu or a mix.

I assume someone took it to scan for a chip?
