I've been noticing that the crews are dismantling the signage and clearing out the interior of the theater in the last couple of days. It is so sad. They should have closed the Fiesta Trls theater on Vance Jackson, which most ppl think is quite nasty.

Two different "theys" involved.

The Fiesta is owned by Regal. The Huebner Oaks was owned by AMC.

I guess AMC should have replaced the seats and mopped the dadgum floors. That was one of our favorite places to catch a movie... until they stopped maintaining it. No surprise it closed, and hope something better will come out of this.

What a shame. I can't tell you how many good and bad dates I went to when I was growing up in high school and college. Damn shame this theater closed. I remember when the concession stands in the ends of the theater building were popping.

My husband heard at work that Regal was going to be taking over the Huebner Oaks theater. He doesn't work for the theater but works for a contractor that provides service for both AMC and Regal, so there may be truth to the rumor.

My wife and I went to Fiesta Trails to see Footloose. It was a good experience. Tons of parking spaces, not busy, and we went to Cool Cafe before and had gyros.

Ya know the AMC theaters on the east coast are some of the best anywhere and I thought they were better than Santikos here, but never went to Huebner Oaks since I live closer to the Palladium. Shame there isn't more competition in town.
