In far west San Antonio, at the corner of Culebra and Loop 1604, there is a place called Alamo Ranch. It is now just being developed. Eventually, they are predicting about 100 stores (900,000 SF) similar to the Forum on the NE side of San Antonio. Behind that there will be up to 15,000 homes on 3,100 acres with several builders. They better widen Culebra west of Loop 1604 from the current 2 lanes to 6 lanes to handle the traffic! Here is a web site with more info:

Yeah, Alamo Ranch is going to be extremely large. Those 15,000 homes will be finished within 5 years.

Alamo Ranch Market (the 900k sq. ft. center) will be a nice retail component for all the housing.

There's also a 500,000 sq. ft. shopping center going up across from Alamo Ranch Market.

Steel, if you have any questions about retail under construction in our city, let me know.

Have you heard about The Fountains at Live Oak? A 850,000 sq. ft. shopping center to be built across 35 from The Forum.

Hey 210, I am over here 1604/10 on the northside and do you happen to know what stores are going into Regal Hills and how many houses are going to be built behind the Rim?

Thanks

Boy all this and a Fry's! I hate the traffic over here as it is! But hubby will love a Fry's close buy, heck he was happy when he got best buy at the Rim a couple of months ago. Where to move to get away from the traffic yet still close to my boys school!

For some reason I can't edit my post.

So let me repost it with the fixed grammar erros.

Over 100 stores are going into Regal.

An IKEA, a Fry's electronic, a Sears Grand, those are the only ones I know of, Regal Hills has been really tight lipped on this project. There will also be residental housing built adjacent to Regal Hills that will include two twin highrises.

As for the housing at The Rim, it'll be a mix of low-density housing (single family housing) and high density housing (apartments). The last I heard The Rim will have a little over 5,000 housing units.

That may or may not have changed as The Rim recently announced they are building large a auto-mall on the north end of The Rim, it will have 7 high end dealerships including BMW, Lexus, and Land Rover.

210, what is a Sears Grand? I have never heard of that name. Will it take on Super Walmart or HEB Plus?

BTW, have you thought about going into commercial real estate?

Basically, yeah. It's a hypermarket, it will have everything a regular Sears store has plus other things like books, electronics, music, movies, and a full-line of groceries with meat, produce, bakery, seafood, deli, frozen foods and dairy

Park North (to be built on the site of the former Central Park Mall) will also have a Sears Grand.
